Airlie Beach City Guide
Beautiful sandy beaches and natural wonders of the world means tourists keep coming back to Airlie Beach. There's plenty to keep you busy, but this tranquil little town on the Whitsunday Coast is also the perfect place to sit back and relax!
A short boat trip will take you to one of the greatest wonders of the world. The Great Barrier Reef is beautiful and home to some of the rarest forms of life!
Be sure to get up close to Airlie Beach's wildlife at Barefoot Bushman Wildlife Park. Whether you pat a koala bear, or watch a man wrestle crocodiles, you're guaranteed to have a great time!
You'll be in awe when you step foot onto Whitehaven Beach. Considered one of the best beaches on the continent, the sand is so white and clean that some say you can hear your feet squeaking as you walk on it!
There are plenty of great places to eat in Airlie Beach, but Mangrove Jacks has a little bit of everything - great food, great people, and a fantastic view of the water. Try the house specialty – the fish and chips. Mangrove Jacks is also fun after the sun sets thanks to its own private brewery.
Another hot spot is Paddy's Shenanigans. With plenty of beer and dancing, Paddy's Shenanigans definitely lives up to its name!
The Airlie Beach Hotel offers a beautiful view. And, because it's right in the centre of town, it's within walking distance to local shops, bars, and restaurants.
If it's out of your price range, there are plenty of other choices right in the middle of the city. Look along Shute Harbour Road for the best variety.
If you're looking for quieter accommodation, head out to the Whitsundays Islands, a group of 74 islands just off the coast.
