Blue Mountains in review
Just west of Sydney, you will find the Blue Mountains – an area that shows off nature at its best. It’s no wonder the entire region has been named a World Heritage Site!
The chief town in the Blue Mountains is Katoomba. A perfect place for day trips, Katoomba won’t just give you great views of the mountains; it will also put you up close and personal with all kinds of local wildlife! The rock formation known as the Three Sisters is its biggest attraction, which is viewable from the vantage area known as Echo Point. Near Echo Point, is the Giant Stairway which descends about 300 metres (1,000 feet) leading into the Jamison Valley – a great place for bushwalking and hiking.
If you’re looking for a place to avoid the crowds, try Leura – a suburb of the City of Blue Mountains. There, you will find tree-lined streets with plenty of bridges, hills, and cliffs to get great views from.
No matter where you go in the Blue Mountains region, you won’t be far from a waterfall. The area’s numerous waterfalls are a great place to spend some quiet time – or even to have a picnic!
The Blue Mountains region is also home to a number of luxurious spas. After all, with secluded mountain views, you’ll have no choice but to relax! Feel free to kick back, get a massage or a facial, and sit amongst the mountains and forests.
