Good
Nov 2009 - Siobhan Saxby, NE Tas
I stayed her while my partner was in hospital having bypass surgery. You get what you pay for, I have recommended it to anyone that I have known to be going to Hobart. I would be happy to stay there again by the way I am female and stayed on my own and felt perfectly comfortable and safe.

WOW...what an improvement
Nov 2010 - Simon, Sydney
I stayed here recently with my girlfriend. We'd stayed here before but that was before Jono (new owner/manager) took over. The place has been improved so much, thanks to renovations, great staff and a new lounge area including outdoor place to chill.
Place is very clean and well looked after by Jono and his crew, unlike other places i've stayed it was really safe, confirmed by a group of female backpackers who'd been there for a week...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

VERY GOOD New committed operator
Jun 2010 - David, Melbourne
This is a back packers so don't expect a hotel. It is an old building patched up as best can be expected. Jonathon who runs this place is very good. My mate and I stayed in a twin room. It had 2 bunk beds and a double bed. The room had a bar heater sufficient for the room, good and clean bedding with extra blankets offered. Cleanliness and hot water flows sufficient in the bathroom we used. Jonathon is helpful for information, airport transport etc. A very good backpackers.

Total Dive
Dec 2009 - Rohan Pooley, Launceston
Absolutely disgusting, I booked this hotel for a romantic weekend that turned into a nightmare as no other hotels were available. The rooms are dirty and smell and to park in the car park you need to be Jim Richards as it is near impossible to get into any of the car parks. If you are thinking of staying here think again its only saviour is its location and the buildings originality as it does not look like it has been touched since it was built in the 1800's (or cleaned).

ghastly

The website (under Hollydene Lodge ) showed a lovely reception/Lounge area- NOT TRUE.
Dingy bar, dirty overused kitchen, dark unfurnished foyer, run by an uncommunicative couple - all a great disappointment.
