You don't get better than this

The room we had was recently renovated and situated on the groung floor. We had a huge room with one queen bed and a single bed .

The staff are very friendly and the room was cleansed and tidied up each day. Plenty of car spaces on the grounds , and it's easy walking distance to the big Myer s Store . There's also some good restaurants nearby.

Poor standard at Penny Royal

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which had threadbare patches of carpet on the stairs which the children could have caught their feet/shoes in and fallen. There was a big patch of threadbare carpet in the lounge. Within an hour of checking in we did air our concerns to the lady who had checked us in and her response was what did we expect her to do about it and then told us she was not the receptionist, that she had been filling in while the receptionist was at lunch and that we would have to talk with her. Needless to say when we called at reception later, the same original lady who had checked us in was at reception and when we handed our key in the next morning there was that same lady again. We also went back the next day to see if a pair of socks had been found and there was that same lady again at reception!

The apartment catered bedding wise for 6 people but there was only two 2 seater lounges for comfortable seating, the other two people had to sit on one of the dining chairs or on the floor. After a day out shopping and viewing Launceston it would have been appreciated if all of us could have sat and rested in comfort for the evening. Only some of the lights worked in the apartment and the toilet was constantly refilling when no one had been near it and the sound of this came through the wall in the main bedroom. The paint was chipping off the walls of the bedrooms, some of the bed sheets had little holes in them and some had patches on them.

The children had been looking forward to seeing the attractions at Penny Royal but we were told that it was no longer operating, it is only used for the hotel and apartments now. The only original part of the Penny Royal attractions still there was the lolly shop and that had been moved down to the hotel section.

Overall we thought it very poor quality and definitely not good value for money.
