Things to do

Popular and bustling during the summer months, it can be fun to stroll along Mountjoy Parade, stop at one of the sidewalk cafés or boutiques, and simply enjoy the ocean setting. There is a good golf course in Holiday Road, which overlooks the town. Fresh fish is easy to get here, and one popular fishing spot is the pier. Look out for trout, bream, salmon and snapper on local menus, as all are likely to be fresh and delicious!

Great Otway National Park

Nearby, the Great Otway National Park offers adventure and excitement to would-be explorers of all ages. Underneath the huge trees of the rainforest, enjoy walking alongside the cascading streams and waterfalls. The park is criss-crossed with tracks and trails, surrounded by abundant plant life including fungi, mosses and ferns. In different parts of the park visitors can swim or snorkel, look out for wallabies, koalas and possums, or simply enjoy the fresh air of the great outdoors.

Great Ocean Road

Mountjoy Parade in Lorne is a section of the Great Ocean Road, one of the most iconic touring routes in the world, with stunning scenic views along 243 kilometres of Victorian coastline. The road passes by surfing beaches and beaches for swimming, and from it you can experience the temperate climate of the rainforest, shining waterfalls and steep cliffs, and enjoy the many different towns along the way, each with a unique character of their own.
