Margaret River Wine Region in review
Located on Australia’s western side, the Margaret River Wine Region is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world!
The region’s name comes from the hundreds of vineyards that call the area home. So, as you might expect, there are some great wine tours to go on. But what you may not expect is the beer. That’s right! The Margaret River Wine Region is also home to a handful of breweries that you can tour.
Close to the Margaret River, you will find a chocolate factory that offers tours and free tastings. While you’re there, you can even buy chocolate massage oils and soaps!
The Margaret River Wine Region is also home to some fantastic beaches. One of the most famous is Yallingup, which lies on the region’s north side. Literally meaning “Place of Love” in the Aboriginal language, Yallingup is home to awesome waves and some of Australia’s best surfers. Luckily, the beaches here are also far less crowded than other parts of the region.
For more hustle and bustle, head to Dunsborough – a coastal town that sits right next to the Geographe Bay. It started off as a secluded whaling town, but today, Dunsborough is a beloved stop for families on vacation. You can find many of the Margaret River Wine Region’s hotels here – along with walking trails, coves, beaches, and dolphins.
For some adventure that doesn’t involve the sun or the water, check out the region’s caves. There are lots of them that are open to the public.
