  • Would recommend this.

I was pleasantly surprised, Initially I thought the room a little small, but it was actually well appointed and very adequate. Very comfortable and breakfast was awesome. The staff were all very pleasant and extremely helpful. I would not hesitate to stay again and would gladly recommend it to others.

  • Done up for the better

We had a standard room that was basic but adequate for our overnight stay. It had digital TV, internet connection, iron and board, fridge, teas/coffee making facilities, A/C. There was a warm welcome at reception with a friendly eagerness to please. When we booked out we were able to leave our bags there for the day. The hotel is an obviously old building that has undergone recent renovations so everything was fresh and clean with new appointments in the room. A limited selection of meals are available in the dining room with "pub" prices. Continental breakfast was included in our tariff and comprised fresh fruit, cereal, juices, tea/coffee and toast. It was serve yourself so if you left hungry it was your own fault. This is a good, well priced hotel.

  • Hostel style - not a hotel

In my view this is a 2 star hotel and a 4 star hostel. Very basic , old fashioned and not clean , but not dirty. Well located , a bit pricey for what it is .... simply a bed for the night.

  • Kingsgate Hotel Review

Sucks. For the price you pay, this is definitely expensive. Should be named as backpackers' Inn rather than hotel. Card access to room. Room is clean but very old. No in-room toilet. The communal toilet though is clean but very run down. Room is very small. Bed is very soft. Cupboard looks new and clean. Basin is super old. Gas powered heater is good for warmth. Staffs are very friendly.
