Pretty Average Stay

While it was what we needed (a bed, a fridge and a bathroom) the whole experience was a little "meh". We were told the room was small (studio suite) but we did find it was comfortable with enough room to walk around the bed and leave bags around without tripping over things. Although what did dissapoint us outweighed the good unfortunatly. The hall key to get into the hallway with our room in it took a fair bit of jiggling around to open the lock (not pleasant expeirence at 2am in the dark and cold). The only inside lock on out room door was a little slide across lock you'd find on a cupboard, not a snib or anything on the doorknob itself, but the door did lock with a key on the outside. Ten minutes after check-in a very pushy staff member jiggled the door handle and when they found it locked just continued to pull harder and then finally thought to knock, at which point we opened the door and they almost pushed past us mumbling something about "needing to check they'd finished the bed" (one would hope they had given we checked in an hour later than we'd previouly indicated that we would). If there was foxtel (which we were told came free with all the rooms) we couldn't work out how to turn it on and we couldn't seem to get the heater to tunr on at all. To the bloomsfield's credit however a fire alarm sounded at 5am and they were very quick to inform everybody that it was a false alarm (set off by a guest). The bathroom was tiny but big enough to dry off in after the shower. All in all for the price we paid it suited our needs, the bed was VERY comfortable and the funky locker style beside tables were very handy as we were able to lock valuables in then when we left the room. For one nights stay it was ok, we didnt leave with any real problems, the staff at the front desk were lovely and the close proximity to the trams on sydney road was fabulous. Not sure if we'd go back, we dont regret the choice of stay but i think we'll be trying somewhere else next time.

in an attempt to be trendy and decorate with IKEA. they have forgotten some of the basics - I did not feel relaxed during my stay, woken up at 9 am by cleaning staff, and by heavy hamering out side the window - and the owner gave us attitude when we complained. I have been to a lot of hotels in my time and this was not a joyfull experince. I could go on. but all im going to say is that wont be going back!!!!
