Maidstone is a northwestern Melbourne suburb located immediately north of West Footscray. Western Hospital, Victoria University Student Village and the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne are here. Local golf courses include Medway Golf Club in Avondale Heights and Riverside Golf Course in Ascot Vale. Edgewater Lake is east of Maidstone.
