South Melbourne has become one of the area's best places to club-hop. There is a host of hip bars, cafes and nightclubs clustered along Clarendon Street - Blue Room, Honey Bar and Star Bar. Other South Melbourne hot spots include The Motel, Butterfly Club, Q Eleven and the St. Ali cafe and coffee bar.
Since 1867 the South Melbourne Market has been tantalising shoppers with hundreds of stalls filled with food, clothing, handicrafts, giftware and more. The market is open during normal business hours on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Spring 2011 saw the return of the market's Style After Dark clothing and accessories event every Thursday evening, from late October through to late November.
The Raw Gallery is a unique exhibition space that focuses on works that celebrate the music industry. The warehouse-style showroom is industrial cool, with fine art photography dedicated to rock ‘n' roll and pop culture; the multifunctional space also houses vintage vinyl, fashion and books.
