Fawkner Park was established in 1862 and covers approximately 41 hectares at the western end of South Yarra. There are sports facilities, open green lawns and tree-lined pathways.
You will need a boat to get to Herring Island, but it's well worth the trip. Situated on three hectares in the middle of the Yarra River, there's a breathtaking sculpture park hidden amidst the lush exotic flora and native Australian plant life.
