Alexandra Gardens

Hisense Arena

The $65 million Hisense Arena was built in 2000 as a means of extending Melbourne Park’s capacity for tennis crowds and fulfilling a growing need for another large, multi-use venue in the city. The sparkling indoor/outdoor facility can accommodate a wide range of events, from sports like tennis, basketball and bowling to concerts, performances and festivals. The fully retractable roof takes just 10 minutes to close and the dynamic seating configurations give the arena greater flexibility.

Rod Laver Arena

This massive, multi-use venue is mainly used for headline concerts and the Australian Open tennis competitions. The huge sunroof protects spectators and participants from the intense sun. There is little in the way of ambience at the arena, but nobody really comes for the atmosphere. The concert schedule is packed, so check often for tickets to your favourite shows.

Fantastic location, we stayed in a newly renovated room which was spotlessly clean, great flat screen TV on the wall, staff were friendly and helpful. Will definately stay there again.

Worst hotel ever!

The rooms are very old and unclean. The shower didn't work. The rooms stank. I would advise not to go here if possible. The only good thing going for this place is that it is located in the middle of Melbourne's city.

Brilliant , cheap n cheerful place to stay. Location ideal for emergency stay in the City after a Christmas Party.A little noisy in the early morning however, better then getting booked for being over the limit.
Would recommend it to anyone & everyone.

Great location, good renovated room , huge tv ,staff pleasant and helpful,i t was good to have parking and at a good price [$18.00], the only down side was the noise from the renovations was loud and early sometimes.

I stayed in a newly renovated 'heritage ' room, so facilities were immaculate -altho the flatscreen TV was a bit temperamental, suspect it was the signal. Staff were terrific and the situation was just perfect. I thought this was great value and would recommend it to anyone currently paying at least twice as much for business travel!
