Mildura City Guide
Mildura is on the border of Victoria and New South Wales. It's a popular destination for wine lovers and is known for its citrus groves, dried fruits, and nuts. Since it's close to national parks and remote bushland, Mildura has plenty to do outdoors. It also offers lots of indoor entertainment - like wine tasting, pubs, restaurants and plenty of shopping!
Get a good look at the Australian Outback at Mungo National Park. Evidence of the earliest human inhabitants of the continent - dating back 40,000 years - was discovered here.
Take a ride on a historic paddle steamer or paddleboat with Mildura Paddlesteamers. They used to float along the Murray River carrying supplies. Now you can enjoy a relaxing lunch or dinner onboard!
If you want to see Mildura from the sky, take one of the hot air balloon rides, helicopter tours, or private twin engine plane tours.
Motorsports enthusiasts won't want to miss a racing event at the Mildura Speedway. In October, the Goanna Run event is in town - where you can see sleek hotrods and fancy, rare cars.
Stop by the Enjoy Wine Cafe to sample local wines. Mildura is well-regarded for its Chardonnay. Be sure to keep your eye out for one of the many wineries and tasting centres in town.
No trip to Mildura is complete without an Italian dinner at Stefano's. The chef - Stefano de Pieri - is Mildura's most famous.
Alternatively, head to Mildura's Feastreet on Langtree Avenue. You're guaranteed to find a restaurant to suit any set of tastebuds here!
At the Mildura Brewery, you can have a beer and then watch how it's made!
