We are a mother and son on our annual Sydney trip to see aging aunt in St Peters. Normally we stay near her, but this time, decided to go for town and take train to visit - a great move. This place is quaint art deco, enough of the original building to appreciate. It is surrounded by similar, Potts Point being a tourist mecca in the 1930s. Like previous reviewer said, felt safer being on the periphery of Kings Cross rather than in it. But so close to the tube station, or a stroll into town across the gardens. We self-catered, so the microwave and sink and fridge was well used. Friendly host, and wireless internet for $5 a day was heaven for two bods who wanted to stay in of an evening. We would stay there again, for sure.
Potts Point is outside Kings Cross which suited us as it is a safer place to stay in this quality area. The city and Circular Quay are a short taxi ride or 30 minute walk. Plenty of surrounding restaurants in the same street and breakfast is available in a cafe below. Room was clean although a bit bare. If you want to save money with some self catering there is a microwave and a local supermarket nearby. It did suit our budget and we would return here again.
