Getting there / transfers

Located across the road from popular Thirroul beach in northern suburbs of Illawarra/Wollongong area. If travelling from Sydney along the F6 freeway, go down the Bulli Pass turn off and turn left into Thirroul at the base of Bulli Pass. Our property is located 1.7klm from base of Bulli Pass. Thirroul is just one hours’s drive south of Sydney via the F6 freeway or the coastal road (to be re-opened in 2006) , or take a train and relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way. Thirroul is a major stop on the railway system to Wollongong. If travelling from the south, eg, Canberra, take the Picton Road turnoff and head for Wollongong/Bulli. If coming north from the South Coast, just follow the freeway all the way bypassing Wollongong and heading toward the northern suburbs of Wollongong, ie Bulli.

You get what you pay for! It looks as though some effforts are being made to renovate as shower was quite good. Otherwise the peeling paint, rusty fridge door, plumbing hole in bathroom wall and towel with a hole in it, no electric blanket and only one blanket leave a lot to be desired. "Back at 10.30" sign on reception door meant we were unable to complain in person.

Very basic rooms and quite rundown. Peeling paint, rusty shower screens etc. No bath. No complimentary toiletries, towels old and thin. One balnket provided on bed, no bedcover or quilt and no extras in a cupboard. Laundry facilities basically non existent. No safety checks on any electrical applicances (lamps, kettle etc.) Could not check out as office was closed with sign that someone would return by 10 am. Most guests were leaving before this and were all quite frustrated or angry.
