  • Inexpensive stay in downtown Auckland.

    We booked a double room, but were contacted by the hotel to say that a simultaneous booking had left only a twin available - would this be alright? The twin room we took was shabby but roomy and clean; its bathroom was ballroom-sized. Only real complaint would be that room was hot, windows were hard to open and not secure in the open position. Then traffic noise was evident, natural in this central city location. No lift! Breakfast was not included in the tariff; there is a restaurant in the basement where breakfast can be purchased. The Reception on the first floor was not obvious on our arrival and seems infrequently staffed: our check-in and out was via the ground-floor bar. But good value for money and would stay again.
