Coronet Peak and The Remarkables are the two most important ski fields. Coronet Peak is considered the country's top ski slope and is just 25 minutes from town. The elevation is 1649 metres. It now features a six-seater express chair. The Remarkables is located in a basin with a wide range of runs available. As there are no trees on the ski areas, the whole mountain is ski able.

The Queenstown ski season runs from mid-June to late-September.
