Nambung National Park

One of the most interesting side trips from Perth is to Nambung National Park. It’s located next to the Indian Ocean about 150 miles north of Perth . The park is famous for the Pinnacles desert where curious petrified limestone pillars known locally as 'pinnacles' thrust out of the yellow desert sand. The tallest are four metres high. The pinnacles were formed from seashells which hardened into the pillars over the aeons.
