A favourite haunt for Brisbane residents is South Bank Parklands, a lovely 40-acre complex of parks, restaurants, shops, playgrounds, street theatre, and weekend markets.
Just a seven-minute walk from downtown, South Bank Parklands features an artificial beach complete with palm trees, waves and sand. The leafy pathways are great for cycling or strolling and the many cafes offer scenic city views. It's also an easy amble to the adjacent Queensland Cultural Centre which houses a museum and art gallery.
