Sydney Aquarium Guide: Spend Less, Do More

Welcome to Sydney Aquarium

Aquarium Pier, Darling Harbour, NSW, 2000

Take a trip to Sydney Aquarium and you won’t be disappointed, it’s great for the family or with friends. One of the largest aquariums in the world with a unique wave shape, you get a chance to walk under water and explore Australia's rich and diverse marine life and habitats.

You will enter through a set of giant metal shark jaws and you will be transported through more than 160 metres of underwater tunnels.

As you make your way through the aquarium find out about the rivers and habitats of Southern and Northern Australia, and its oceans, and learn about the fragile nature of the countries aquatic environments.

Don’t miss the Open Ocean exhibit, a massive oceanarium with underwater tunnels where you can see Australia's marine life close up. Here you’ll find the largest collection of sharks in captivity, some weighing up to 300 kg and 3m long. Another ‘must see’ is the Great Barrier Reef complex, with its tropical touch pool, live coral cave, and oceanarium which boasts more than 6,000 animals. Finally, see the stunning Reef Theatre and observe activity in the coral canyon through a glass window.
