Kangaroo Point
Located just east of Brisbane city on the banks of the Brisbane River is the Kangaroo Point precinct. Its close proximity to some of the city's main attractions makes Kangaroo Point a popular destination.
You'll be very close to the South Bank Parklands, one of Brisbane's most popular outdoor recreation areas, and the Kangaroo Point Cliffs are a great place to picnic, rock climb or abseil. If you're feeling brave, book a tour of the Story Bridge, a historic structure that first opened in 1940 and spans the Brisbane River.
The recently refurbished Story Bridge Hotel offers fine dining in the shadow of the famed bridge; the Pineapple Hotel dining room is well-known for great steaks and a cosy atmosphere. Most of Kangaroo Point's eateries are located along Main Street and the surrounding area. You'll find fast food, takeaways, local haunts and quaint pubs serving up some of the region's best local dishes.
This residential neighbourhood is characterised by high-rise apartment accommodation, hostels, chain hotels and small guesthouses. There's a room to suit nearly any budget, and transport to nearby attractions is easily accessible.
