Cheaperthanhotels is committed to ensuring our customers' privacy and security of all information collected, and to explain it in as simple and comprehensive manner as possible. If at the end of this page you feel we could have made some improvements, feel free to send us an email.

Here’s some background as to what we do.  

We regularly review guidelines from authorities in the major countries and follow recommendations to improve privacy compliance and disclosure.   While we cannot cover all the combined complexity and variances for 180 countries and different States and territories, we do follow standards outlined in the US, Canada, EEC, UK, Australia by privacy authorities.

Bookings: 

When you make a booking via the Cheaperthanhotels  web site, we need to collect information about you to process the transaction and fulfil your order. This information includes, but is not limited to, details such as your name, your contact details (email, phone, address) and your credit card details. When you submit a request via our email support forms, we also collect your name and email so that either we, or our accommodation and booking partners may respond to your request or query as quickly as possible.

Booking Partners: 

The information you provide us in the booking process is then passed to our booking partners for the completion of your transaction with payment and the management of your reservation.  The process with our partners is a separate process. We pass this information according to strict data security standards as outlined below.

Third Party Logins:

 We use social media plugin’s, such as, but not limited to Facebook to promote our accommodation partners’ properties and also to promote, improve and facilitate our own services. When you click on one of the buttons and register with your social media account, information is shared with your social media provider, and possibly presented on your social media profile to be shared with others in your network.  We do this because it is popular with customers to share information that we have on our website. You should check with your social media account website’s privacy policy to make sure you are comfortable doing this.

When you become a member of Cheaperthanhotels or submit a booking request, we use the collected information in several ways:

• For personal identification and verification

• to complete your hotel or accommodation reservation

• to allow us or our booking partners to contact you for customer service, if required

• to make improvements to the Cheaperthanhotels web site

• to improve your user experience on the web site

• to send you marketing material

In addition, if you have opted to sign up for membership offered by our website, your email address will be used to send you an email message confirming your new member registration.  As a member you, will occasionally receive updates from us about special rate offers, newsletters and any noteworthy changes to the website.

We disclose your information to third parties (such as the accommodation providers you have booked with or booking partners) only for the purpose of completing your transaction with those third parties, who are providing the above services to you and for the purposes of the associated administration. Cheaperthanhotels  has also obtained a digital certificate from Go Daddy, an industry leader in the protection and management of data transmission and storage.

We use the services of trusted and recognised online advertising and marketing companies. We also use third party providers for analytics purposes. To enable these services, these companies need to place cookies.

We only use third party providers that comply with the responsibility of the highest standards and practices in data management. 

With third party online advertising and marketing services, we aim to work only with companies that are members of recognised organisations that conform to codes of conduct. The Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and/or the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) are two of these.  Members of NAI and IAB comply to strict industry standards and codes of conduct. We use Google analytics to track the behaviour of users. • Third party commercial cookies :  

We may use third-party cookies as well as our own to display personalised advertisements on our website and on other websites.  This type of activity is called “ retargeting “ and it is based on browsing activities such as the destinations you have been searching for and the accommodation you have viewed, as well as the prices you may have been displayed.  Cookies may also be used to display products and service through our website.

We at Cheaperthanhotels Australia work hard to provide our clients with the best possible rates at all hotels and accommodation we feature. From time to time, we will send our members newsletters, updates and specials in certain areas. You will only receive this correspondence if you have chosen to do so and we hope that you will find these items informative and useful. However, should you choose to not receive them in the future, you will have the ability to unsubscribe from the email database by clicking on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.
