Sunshine Coast in review
True to its name, the Sunshine Coast is right on the water in southeast Queensland. Around the region, there is plenty to do – both on the water and off!
The Sunshine Coast offers all of the beauty and fun of the famous and trendy Gold Coast – without all of the crowds!
If you like adventure, the Sunshine Coast offers plenty of water sports, including skiing, surfing, and scuba diving. You can even skydive over the beach! If you want to be close to the action, there are plenty of Sunshine Coast hotels along the water, in a variety of cities. For the biggest selection, head to Maroochydore, Alexandra Headlands, or Mooloolaba Beach.
For a leisurely day away from the water, take a trip to Gowinta Farms – the Sunshine Coast’s largest strawberry farm. While you’re there, you can ride tractors and learn all about the region’s native fruits – then pick your own strawberries to take home!
Both on the water and inland, the Sunshine Coast has plenty of national parks to tour and enjoy. You can hike or picnic at any of them – and choose between backdrops of the sand, lush landscaping, or picturesque waterfalls.
If you want to have some fun indoors, head to Sunshine Castle at Bli Bli. While you’re there, you can take a look at tons of medieval armour, a dungeon, and even a torture chamber! You can tour the Castle at your own pace, but if you want some added excitement for the kids, send them off with a kids-only castle tour group.
