Australian Museum

Established only 40 years after the First Fleet landed in Sydney, the Australian Museum has an excellent array of natural history exhibits—including some great wildlife skeletons. There’s also a gallery highlighting Aboriginal history, a 30-minute indigenous performance every day at noon and Saturdays at 2pm, and a host of great programs for kids. Guided tours are included with the price of admission, and run every day at 11am and 2pm.

St. Mary’s Cathedral

One of the world’s largest cathedrals, St. Mary’s, is a Gothic behemoth stretching approximately 106 metres long. The first Catholic mass was held there in 1833, but construction continued on the cathedral’s massive 75-metre spires until 2000. Visit the crypt to see the mosaic tile floor inspired by the Book of Kells or sit in quiet mediation in the early morning or late afternoon, when the sunlight streams through the English stained glass windows.

The Rocks Discovery Museum

This excellent museum is divided into four chronological exhibits: pre-1788, 1788-1820, 1820-1900, and 1900 to the present. You will get a solid education in the history of this significant precinct, as well as plenty of access to some of the region’s most important artefacts. The Cadigal people, original inhabitants of the Rocks, are given particular attention throughout the museum.

i arrived at 08.30 and my room was ready which enabled me to put my lugage in my room BEFORE i returned my hire car,the hotel is very central to all the sydney attractions, and the staff were very helpfull, i was able to book a shuttle bus to the airport from the hotel which was very reasonable i would recomend this hotel as very good value for money

My wife and I found the staff very helpful during our stay (4 to 8 December 2009). We were within walking distance of many restaurants and other places worth visiting. The room was small but offered all the necessaries. Was kept clean and tidy every day.
