Pretty average but good location

I'd give this a 4 star max - no way is it international 5 star standard.

But overall , we got by and we got a cheap deal compared to other hotels in the area at the time. I'd shop around on this site before commiting here first though

Terrible!

Booked this place for one night as a get-away for a change from noisy apartment living. Had a Deluxe King room which was decently priced at $225, considering the full rate of $460/night.

Do NOT believe the "5 Star" rating given! This hotel fits into the 3 star category! I was terribly disappointed as I was expecting a 5 Star (or would not have booked), and came close to cancelling the whole thing and demanding a refund.

Initial impressions:

- Entrance was hard to find, and messy. Old, dirty luggage trolleys. No-one to open the door or even welcome you until you find the concierge desk. Even then, I had to excuse myself and ask to check in - at which point they directed me upstairs. Concierge staff were unhelpful, if not rude.

- Upon checkin, there were protracted delays because I had booked the room (and paid for it) online via my iPhone, but of course hadn't been able to print a receipt. This caused a 10 minute holdup at the check-in desk, despite the fact that they could see the receipt confirmation page on my phone. Eventually they agreed to let me into my room, and said they would look into it meanwhile. When they gave me the key, I had to ask what level the room was on.

- The room: Carpet was shocking. Stained, grubby, and should have been replaced years ago. It may be an old hotel but this does not justify worn out, stained interiors! Furniture (desk, tables etc) very cheap-looking, with marks on them, and looked rather tired. I have stayed at Travelodge (rooms for $99/night) and the rooms are of equal or better standard.

Appliances (phone, iron etc) very old and a bit grubby. Power for appliances and bathroom light is disconnected until you put your keycard in a slot at the entrance – staff failed to tell me this which further wasted my time.

-Bathroom: Small. Very old bath tub. No TV/radio in the bathroom. Don’t expect any slippers, gowns etc – there aren’t any. No toothbrush supplied. Shower water pressure was extremely poor – more
