Adelaide is known as one of the wine capitals of Australia and has plenty of good restaurants and bars, many have outside areas where diners can sit and enjoy their food and drink. Top class entertainment can be found in Adelaide City's 100 pubs and clubs; notably the upmarket and famous Moskva Vodka Bar, which is so trendy that it has been compared to nightclubs in New York by several travel guides. Rundle Street and Gouger Street have some excellent restaurants serving almost every possible cuisine, from European to Indian and also Chinese dishes.

There is a wide range of accommodation available, including plenty of upmarket hotels to choose from. They provide all the modern conveniences, including bars, gyms, Wi-Fi internet access and swimming pools. Some of the hotels in Adelaide City are boutique style and quirky; one of them is a converted fire station. Exceptional accommodation is generally offered in the larger, more expensive hotels, but there are also some cheap hotels in Adelaide City that offer a comprehensive range of conveniences.
